The Jomsom trek gives a wonderful opportunity to witness the beauty of the Annapurna region with a shorter trek. The 9 to 12days trek to Jomsom is essentially the last third of the Annapurna circuit. The trip starts just north of the city of Pokhara and winds through the Poon Hill area and then passes the Dhaulagiri icefall giving you a prime view of all the mountains. After reaching Jomsom the trek heads up to Muktinath, an important pilgrimage place for Buddhists and Hindu's, which lies on the Tibetan plateau. This area gives you a look at the high and dry landscape that is the entire Tibetan plateau. The trek ends with a plane ride from Jomsom to Pokhara and then to Kathmandu. This is one of the lower elevation treks that we offer rising to only 3,800m.This Trek can be start by both sides either from Nayapur or from Jomsom.
Jomsom Muktinath trek through the Kali Gandaki Valley, passing through the deepest gorge in the world the trek finally emerges into the wide valley of Jomsom, a Himalayan Shangrila. Similarly if you don't have enough time to do the whole Annapurna circuit, this trek provides almost as much cultural variety. Jomsom Muktinath trek route are the typical Mustang villages such as Tukuche, Marpha and Jharkot with its medieval King's Palace and Bonpo Gompa. Finally, it emerges to the north of the main Himalayan range, on the dry, desert like Tibetan Plateau. Cultural experiences holy Shiva's pilgrimage site, Buddhist society, pinnacle sceneries and landscape, stunning mountain views, down mid-hill mixed cultural trail, hot spring. Beginning the trek from Nayapul after a one and half hours drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, the trail passes over the Ghorepani pass and descends down to Kali Gandaki valley. Thist trek is indeed a classical trek, essentially the final third of the Annapurna Circuit, follows the Kali Gandaki Valley between the soaring peak of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.
Jomsom Muktinath trekking way is known as Kaligandaki valley and popular of Lower Mustang trekking. Jomsom-Kaligandaki Valley (itinerary-01)
Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu
Meet and greet at Airport then you'll be taken to your hotel. While in Kathmandu you will have time fascinating Buddhist and Hindu temples and shrines reflecting ancient local traditions are highlighted on our guided tour. There's time to explore the city's many charms on your own too. In the evening delicious traditional Nepali well come dinner await for you. O/n in Kathmandu,
Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing
After breakfast, we'll visit Swayambhunath temple, and said to be 2000 years stupa on a hillock offers breath-taking view of Kathmandu City. We will then processed to Visit Pasupatinath and Bouddhanath. After lunch we'll visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan (Lalitpur) - which is the oldest of the three major cities in Kathmandu Valley - famous for its Buddhist monuments and Hindu temples, and you can catch the traditional artisans working with wood, stones and metals. O/n in Kathmandu.
Day 03: Kathmandu-Pokhara (820m)
You have breakfast being of the early morning before 7:00 AM. This morning you will be drive to Pokhara (200km),or 25 minutes flights or depart 7:00 AM in the morning, approximately 7hrs away by tourist bus. Lunch spot one the way to Pokhara. You will be arrive late afternoon at Pokhara approximately 2:00 O’clock. Pokhara lakeside villages sits, "front row centre" to one of the most beautiful Himalayan panoramas in the world. The Annapurna and famous "Fishtail" mountain peak of Machapuchhare tower over the tropical setting of Pokhara and you spend there will be the scenic highlight of your trip. You're free in Pokhara Valley also called "Magic Land" or Dreamland" of Nepal, to explore the various interesting place as your own like boating in Fewa lake over looking the region of Annapurna range of Himalayas. Day04: Pokhara - Jomsom(2,710m)-Kagbeni fly to Jomsom and Trek to Kagbeni (2,800m),
Day 05: Kagbeni-Muktinath(3,800m.)
At the place of Kagbeni, trail leads upwards through Khirgar (3270m), Jharkot (3550m) and can be reaches Muktinath walking about 4 hours even relaxing, O/n Muktinath,
Day 06: Muktinath-Marpha(2,670m.)
We see people from Mustang, a restricted area to the north, who comes to sell handicrafts to pilgrims. Among their merchandise is the highly revered mollusk fossil called shaligram. We will pass some ancient caves and see the impressive White Mountain that is the Dhaulagiri. We also transit at the significant town of Kagbeni, which is at a junction of two rivers and the north-south and east-west trading routes.O/n Tea House,
Day 07: Marpha-Kalopani (2,530m.)
Descend to Marpha a lovely village of whitewashed houses and fertile fields. Continue down the Kaligandaki reaching the former Thakali trading centre of Tukuche. Continue the transit from the Himalayan rainshadow into coniferous forest, which returns to the main river valley and to Kalopani.O/n Tea House,
Day 08 : Kalopani- Tatopani (1,190m)
A beautiful walk, with another transition into sub-tropical vegetation and the return of water buffalo, banyan trees and poinsettias. The trail follows the river through a narrow gorge and descends to cross a bridge near a spectacular waterfall, before winding through the valley to Tatopani. The hot springs that give the village its name provide the perfect opportunity for a good scrub.O/n Tea House,
Day 09 : Tatopani-Ghorepani (2,750m.)
Steadily climbing all day, we eventually leave behind the terraced fields and walk through thick rhododendron forest to the village of Ghorepani, meaning (horse water). We camp at the pass for the best views of the sunset over the spectacular,snow-capped Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna Range.O/n Tea House,
Day 10 : Ghorepani-Tadapani (2,520m.)- Ghangdruk (1,940m.)
Day 11: Ghangdrung-Dhampus (1,650m.)
The views continue to outstanding even as we descend, to the village of Dhampus.O/n Tea House,
Day 12: Dhampus- Pokhara:
From Dhampus, all the way downhill through the village to Phedi and take a car and driave back to Pokhara. O/n Pokhara.
11 days Jomsom - Muktinath trek (Itinerary-02)
Day 01 Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m.) by tourist bus 7-8 / private car / van 5 hours drive & air 25 minute. This day you can have breakfast and lunch on the way to Pokhara by road there are nice tourist verities of hotel, restaurant as well.
Day 02 By private car / van one hours drive / by local bus two hours drive to Nayapul and same day trek to Tikhedhunga (1540m.) it takes 4 hours walk. This is your first day walking in to the mountain via Birethati, Sudame, Hile and finally you are Tikhedhunga.
Day 03 Trek to Ghorepani (2850m.) it takes 6 hours walk. Second day walking of your holiday in mountain and today you can see two mountain from Ulleri it call Annapurna south (7219m. and Himchuli (6441m.), cross several place it call Banthati, Tangethati finally you are Ghorepani where you can several mountain including Dhaulagiri (8167m.) highest mountain in Annapurna Region.
Day 04 Early morning climb up to Poonhill (3210m.) for sunrise & 180 degree of Annapurna panoramic view from there & down to hotel take breakfast & trek continue to Tatopani (1190m.) it takes 8 hours in total. Today is your one of the memory which you never forget in your life because of the view of the Poonhill.
Day 05 Trek to Ghasa (2010m.) it takes 6-7 hours walk. Walk continue via Guithe, Dana, this is deepest place in the world between two huge mountain above eight thousand meters (Mt. Dhaulagiri 8167m. & Annapurna One 8091m.), Rupse Chhahara, Kopchepani and finally in Ghasa.
Day 06 Trek to Tukuche (2590m.) it takes 7 hours walk. Trails to Tukuche after Kalopani is flat all the way to Kagbeni until next day. People from Tukuche will product wine from apple which is very famous and strong too.
Day 07 Trek to Kagbeni (2800m.) it takes 6 hours walk. Today is flat all the way to Kagbeni via Marpha which is very historical there are popular Marpha monastery, apple garden and next place it call Jomsom it is district headquarter of Jomsom and there is airport, Ekle Bhatti last destination is Kagbeni. This is main way to upper mustang which is special permit doesn’t work normal permit. Trail between Jomsom to Kagbeni you almost Kali Gandaki river beach where you see some of the black stone (we call Saligram) culturally Hindu religion will believe these back stone are face of god.
Day 08 Trek to Muktinath (3800m.) it takes 5 hours walk. Muktinath Temple, Hindus pilgrims, Buddhist monastery too. Trail to Muktinath from Khingar, Jharkot there are one of the world monastery where you visit before next place. Lastly holy place it is specially popular in Hindus religion even people are from India to worship and pray in there.
Day 09 Trek to Jomsom (2710m.) it takes 6 hours walk. Same way down until Khingar and just below village there are two trails you follow left side direct to Jomsom via Ekle Bhatti.
Day 10 Fly back to Pokhara in the morning 15 to 18 minute and look around Pokhara valley and board drive around Fewa Lake, climb up to world peace stupa other side Lake which it take one hours see almost Pokhara valley from top, down to side of Lake cross Lake by board drive to hotel.
Day 11 By tourist bus 7-8, car / van 5 hrs drive & plane 25 minute to Kathmandu. This day you can have breakfast and lunch on the way to Pokhara by road there are nice tourist verities of hotel, restaurant as well.
